Do you want to wind down in a relaxing bath, filled with luxurious bubbles, without stewing yourself in a bunch of toxic chemicals and synthetic fragrance? Look no further!
I modified this recipe is from the Young Living blog, and has a fantastic tutorial showing you how to make a beautiful rolled/sliced bar with multiple colors. You can watch it here.
I went the simpler route and tried pressing the mixture into silicone molds. It was a gigantic fail. I don't recommend that method. Instead, put the mixture into a mason jar and attach a cute label. Easy peasy!
Before we get started, let's stop for a second and talk about SLS and SLSA. This recipe uses SLSA.
SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) is a cleansing and foaming agent, and is commonly found in cleaning and beauty products. It is rated as a 1-2 by EWG, which is usually a green light for me, BUT it is also lists the following concerns: strong evidence of human irritant, classified as expected to be toxic or harmful, suspected to be an environmental toxin, etc. For that reason, I give SLS a hard pass. Can we agree not to soak our bodies in that nastiness?
SLSA (Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate) on the other hand, is rated as a 1 by EWG and doesn't have any of the concerning warnings, is not expected to be harmful or toxic, not expected to bioaccumulate, etc. SLSA for the win!
Now, are you ready to get crafty? Let's do this!
Non-Toxic Bubble Bath is just one of the recipes included in our "Spa in a Jar" gift set. You can view the complete essential oil DIY project by clicking on the link above and you will find the individual recipes at the bottom of this post.
